Real Life: October 30th - November 1st

Well even though this ongoing wet, rainy mess has been lingering for weeks, the rumor is that it's actually supposed to clear up tomorrow. We'll see about that. There's one thing no weather's gonna stop from coming, and that's Halloween. In case your costume is not yet ready, that's tomorrow, folks. It is right up on us. So what are your plans to celebrate?

Tonight: Punkins and pizza at the Onion Hut. I hear this shindig goes from 6pm - 9pm and is friendly towards the wee tot set. I believe there will be pumpkin carving, if you're into that sort of thing.

Saturday: Halloween! I think the rain has made me procrastinate as long as possible this year, because we have no candy and I'm not 100% sure our porch light works. Hopefully, we can take care of all of that Saturday morning, or else the millions of trick-or-treaters descending on our home will have to settle for granola bars or fruit roll-ups in their goody bags. They're closing the street to traffic this year, and there's a kid/pet costume parade starting at 4:30pm. If you're bored and want to spend about five hours jumping up to answer the door every few seconds, listening to lame excuses to get more candy like "my brother is home sick" and "I'm allergic to chocolate, nuts, and gelatin, what other candy do you have", and questioning why some of the adults seem to be carrying their own treat bags, give me a call. Seriously though, it's all fun and good. The costumes are hilarious and kids make up insane, rambling jokes on the spot. We'll probably watch some Tim Burton flicks and drink pumpkin beers as well.

Sunday: Bug's birthday! He's all grown up! Happy birthday, Bug!

Rad pop out day eve eve, Bug.

Tonight - our hut. Pumpkins, pizza, beer, etc. After 9 or so, I'm probably kicking people out so the wee dinosaur can sleep. You can go home, or down the street to Brigid's place for more Halloween hijinx. She's got, like, a band and stuff, so you'd better appreciate it.

Saturday - Emptying the buckets from all the leaks in our roof, then sitting back and waitin' for the trick-or-treaters that never materialize at our place. Guess we're taking the wee tot on his first trick-or-treating outing himself, so if you want him to stop by your place, let us know and we'll see if he can fit you into his tight schedule. Also if anyone wants to sit around here, the scene will be kinda like at the Bug and Pants house, but with fewer kids and more stairs to climb.

Sunday - eating all the candy the kids didn't show up to collect. Watching the epic showdown of Rams v. Lions. Who sucks harder? My money's always on the Rams. Bug's birthday means only one thing - 7 more shopping days until MY birthday.

Tonight: If I get out of work early enough, it's pumpkins and sitting around. If not, it's straight to Brigid's. Everyone is invited, for real--you should go, if only to see my bitchin' Typhoid Mary costume.

Tomorrow: School, doggie play date, watching the chaos @ Bug and Pants's (Bug's and Pants's?) (I'll bring cupcakes of a ghost-shape nature if I can get it together in time), more party, maybe a layover at The Royale?

Sunday: Work, dog walking, recovery, etc. Rad pop-outs to Bug, Lil, Ben, Rose, and whoever else was born on the 1st.

Tonight: Taking PJL to a party in Creve Coueur. He's being quite mysterious about his costume...can't wait to see what he comes up with! I have to put on fake lashes tonight. Hope I don't glue my eyes shut.

Saturday: Chores, then accompanying PJL to a party in Holly Hills.

Sunday: Cookies and cakes baking for a family function with PJL.

Happy birthday to Bug. You all have fun!

I'll bring one of my remaining pumpkins to the onion tonight.  I don't know what else I'll be doing this weekend.

Not quite all grown up yet. Maybe one of these years.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, my plans match up quite closely with the Prof's.

I'm hoping to get some carving in, but I will at least be witnessing some and eating some pizza.

I encourage some people to come over tomorrow night and help me document the absurd jokes we're likely to wrangle out of unsuspecting kids. Also, movies and/or Rock Band.

fri:  we'll be comin' to the sit-around 'round 8ish.  then to the brig party.  did i mention we will be wearing costumes to both?

sat:  kickballin' and handing out candy in the suburbs.  anyone that wants to trek out to webster groves is welcome.  we're handing out steak and shake burgers and shakes.  (um... jk)  and then later in the evening our friend is bartending at some new bar in the grove.  we're going.  hmmm...

sun:  are we celebrating the bug?

Tonight: SLEEEEEEEEP. I've had little of it for the past week... wired on a ridiculous amount of work and a dental mystery that manifests itself in the form of a constant mouth-ache (to be addressed on Monday). Thanks, Coral & Co., for the invite, however. We'll miss Emmett carving (take that either way).

Tomorrow: Working during the day. At night we will visit both my brother's house to see Calvino in his first Halloween costume, and then Bug & Prof's house. We'll stay until my throat decides to dress up as a cat.

Sunday: Zach, Amy, Calvino, Abby, Dan, Katie and I are going over to my grandparents' home to cook them dinner, a birthday present we promised both of them a long while back... and grandmas never forget (and thus ours has been reminding us).

See some of you Saturday night...

Sorry, Deer, there's no big Bug bash on Sunday. We're just hanging out, and hopefully going to a fancy dinner.

Mmmmm... fancy dinner.

Oh yeah, and anyone coming over for Halloween trick-or-treat fun at our house on Saturday, be warned that our street will be closed to vehicles. You'll probably want to park on Macklind and walk over.

The parade is at 4:30pm and I'd imagine we'll get a steady stream of children demanding candy until 9:30pm or so. After that, we may head over to the Royale, or simply collapse into a sugar coma.
