Real Life: April 17th - 19th

Hey there, hi there, ho there. It's felt like a busy week to me. NHL playoffs have started, Carpenter got hurt again, Yadi stole a base, I went to something called a Tweetup (sadly NOT the dorkiest thing I've ever done), my email inbox is overflowing, and I basically ran around like a crazy busy person every other moment in-between. I am on the last pattern repeat of that gray lace slouch beret, however, so that's progress. I know you're keeping track. So anyway, it's the weekend again, and it seems rather Spring-ish out there. I'm wearing a dress sans tights today!!! That's a big win in my book.

Tonight: Dinner at EBL!!!1! It seems ya'll didn't go there last weekend, which is a huge score for me, 'cause I wanna go to there tonight. And hockey won't even interfere since it doesn't start till 9pm anyway. So you can go watch that after delicious spicy potato filled burritos (or whatever you eat there, it's all good). I'm going to try to go to my cousin's birthday event later tonight at Harry's Bar on Market street. Now, I don't think I even knew they had bars on Market street. Bug says it's a creepy pick up bar, so it should be an adventure!

Tomorrow: Bug & I are going to get our hairs cut at V Vegaz. Then there's some sort of big old record shindig at Vintage Vinyl where I might attempt to pop in to see what's going on. If it's crazy, which it might be, I doubt we'll be there long, but there's free PBR... so who knows? Afterward we might lounge around on Art Hill for a while, since I'm assuming this warm, sunshiney weather will last forever. Saturday night? What's going on? Give me a call if you want to get some food or drinks or hang out.

Sunday: Maybe some tentative stabs at digging in the garden. I don't know what's supposed to be out there and what's weeds. Usually I dig eveything up and plant new stuff every year, since I don't know what the hell I'm doing. This year maybe I won't dig anything up and let everything out there fend for itself. Does anyone have any suggestions on plants that come back year after year, maybe flower a bit, and don't need a bunch of maintence? We've planted wildflowers in the past, which grow maybe too well. Last year we got the shorter versions, and they still ended up being 6 feet tall. It's insane.

So that's my long-winded explanation of my weekend in minute detail. How about you? What are you up to?

Warning about Art Hill on Saturday: it took me an hour to get from the park entrance to a parking spot today. Also, there is an anti-nazi rally on the hill on Saturday, because the city is trying to keep the nazi protesters away from the actual neo-nazi rally that is slated to happen on the arch grounds tomorrow (If I did not have to work, I would scoff at the city trying to get me to protest nazis somewhere other than where the nazis actually are, and I'd head to the arch to shut the NSM jerks down, but whatever...)

In other news: I will work late, then I have a thing, so no delicious burritos for me this week.

After, who can say?

Tomorrow: hoping rally-ers don't take up all of the parking at work (again, *I'd* be going to where the racists are to protest them directly, y'know?), working, afternoon laziness, and then, as I had discussed with Peter and my friend, Brigid, hosting "Let the Right One In" at my place. All are welcome to attend (7-ish?), and we can either potluck it, or we can order out--thoughts?

Sunday: Workin', chillin'.

Tonight: Neither of us are feeling up for the EBL tonight (but don't feel bad, EBL, I don't know if any restaurant would seduce us out of hiding tonight). We're gonna stay in, work, watch part of Zelig or maybe Svengali and then go to bed early. Next weekend, though, seriously, we'll get our Friday night act together.

Saturday: Working on various projects during the day. Going out for sushi with extended family at night.

Sunday: Working on various projects during the day. Celebrating my brother's birthday with the family.

Ezz and I are down with EBL, although, technically, some of us did eat it last weekend.

Tomorrow, we have a family brunch thing in the morning and a coworker pizza thing in the evening.

Sunday, I will will the sky not to rain and garden.

Goddamnit Art Hill, who do you think you are with your rallies and protesters!? Seriously, the city's going to take the most idyllic, relaxing, non-politically charged spot in all of the city and try to fill it with quasi-angry, obviously confused, non-confrontational protesters? That's so wrong on so many levels. What the hell is the point of a PROTEST if you are afraid of being CONFRONTATIONAL?

In other news, YGM, Bug & I will not be around for next week's HL, since we'll be watching the Cards smash the Cubs at the ballpark. Won't you miss us? Doesn't that make you want to join us for burritos this week?

Tonight: We're gonna pass on the EBL 'cuz we have dinner plans. And we had it last weekend, but that's irrelevant when it comes to me and EBL.

Tomorrow: Plant sale at TGEast community garden, 10-2. They probably have some cheap perennials, Pants, if you're interested. Or you can hit the Home Depot for $4 perennials, cuz that's what you need. Anybody maybe up for dinner Saturday night? Holla.

Sunday: Maybe more yard work, if the weather somehow isn't too crappy.

Hey guys, for future reference, if everyone is going to Lauren's for something, it's cool just to say so. That way alternate plans can be made accordingly. Also, it's really weird to have to figure it out on my own. Just you know, 'cause that's weird.

Sorry to be weird. I thought I was as clear as I needed to be, though I posted late, due to being out all afternoon. You think that's weird - 2 weeks ago we threw a potluck for HL that nobody attended. I hope you had a good dinner - maybe we'll see you later this weekend...
