  • Dildos On Ice

    dildos in Sweden

According to Swedish site thelocal.se, former AIK defenseman Jan Huokko got an unusual reception from fans upon returning to Stockholm with visiting Leksand: The crowd tossed dildos onto the ice.

The prosthetic penises were reportedly inspired by a sex video Huokko recorded with his phone, a video which was widely circulated online after the phone was stolen. This Deadspin article contradicts reports that the video featured Huokko and his girlfriend: "The video featured only Huokko, pleasuring, well, himself. With a dildo. And doing something else which you sometimes see in the primate section at the zoo but that's all I'm going to say." (The Deadspin page links to blurry images alleged to be stills from the video. No girlfriend is pictured.)

From the above-linked TheLocal article: "Before Tuesday’s match even started, AIK fans had already littered the ice with dozens of dildos, causing a slight delay as crews worked to clear the sex toys from the playing surface.

"AIK fans also unfurled a banner reading 'Bend over bitch!', which was accompanied by a giant inflatable penis."

Not that all this isn't funny — it is funny — but you can't help feeling a little sorry about the way Huokko's getting the shaft. OH, NO!
  • Lucic Smashes Van Ryn, Glass

    Lucic smashes Van Ryn

I don't know why it never occurred to me before — too many Hollywood action flicks, probably — but glass-shattering hits like the one Milan Lucic just laid on Mike Van Ryn are apparently dangerous for fans. Check the video (about 39 seconds in) and see how raining glass shards cut up some unlucky spectators who had to leave the game. Careful what you wish you could see up close! Toronto came back to win, 4-2.

  • Def Leppard puts the Stanley Cup Upside-Down

Kicking off the 2008-2009 season in Hockeytown, here's Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott standing hockey's holy grail on its head. See, this is why the Vs. network should have booked Rush. Basically the same fan demographic, and I bet those guys — Officers of the Order of Canada, all — know which side of Stanley's the top.
