Real Life: February 9 - 11

It's the weekend of the 9th-11th (never forget!). Make some plans that will, in the future, never be forgotten.

One day I will never forget the day we went to dinner tonight. Right now I'm forgetting where we are going to decide to go, though. Maybe it was a return to the Maya Cafe? Or maybe we just went to an old standby, like El Burrito Loco. Whichever, it was unforgettable. Oh yeah, and I never forgot that afterwards I headed over to the Royale for some of the spinning that went on.

If memory serves me right, I didn't have many plans for the rest of the weekend, and yet, it totally turned out to be extremely memorable. Saturday I ended up at some smaller party thing, but I believe afterwards I think I met up with everyone else at that one thing. You know, the thing. Where all the people were. It was so cool that I can barely even remember what went on.

Sunday night I went to see Joel in Death of a Salesman. Everyone who went to that now gets to say they were there. Everyone else can just think about what might have been.

Where were you this upcoming weekend?

Tonight I will work late and try to forget. After, I will remember to see Marko Meltdown and Professor Hotpants spin the records of doom. Memorable, indeed.

Tomorrow, first with 4-6 year olds, and then with 7-10 year olds, I will endeavor to create memories as we learn about art and make Valentines (we'll be going on scavenger hunts to deliver the Valentines that the Statue of St. Louis wrote to some of the Museum's paintings. I can't believe I'm being allowed to do this for a living.)

After, I will get all fancied up and go with my friend John (though not of the Brooks variety) to see "The Light in the Piazza". It will help me to remember the 1940s, as I understand it. I'm sorry to be missing the hot Pierre Pierre action, though. Someone esle remember it to me, please.

Sunday? More art with kids, and then hot, dead salesman action.

Tonight at the Royale, Marko Meltdown will throw down against the almighty Barbara Cliffe for supremacy of the decks in an all terror twin threat of obscure Disco, No-Wave, Hip Hop, New Wave deep cuts. Some hits will be played, too. Get ready to push tables out of the way and dance your face off. Making out is encouraged!

Saturday night, Marko joins the special Creme Brulee to put you in a special mood for l'amore. Come out to More L'amore at the Big Club Hall at 5200 Shaw Avenue from 7 until 10 pm and buy something special for the special someone in your life from some of St. Louis's most special designers. Pierre Pierre, Red Anvil, Pindy Lindy, Doki Doki, Katie Dillon, Madi-Made, Squasht by Les and many more will be on hand selling their special wares. Meltdown and Brulee will play the special jams that make your special places shudder and convulse. It will be special!

Watch for the New Friday is the New Tuesday is the New Weekend at the Royale next Friday night!

Except, unfortunately, Katie Dillon aka Katie Hammerman aka Irritable Purse Syndrome will not be showing at the More L'amore show as she just found out about it 2 seconds ago and had no time to make anything. However, she will be shopping there.

Katie Dillon is listed on the fliers that are making their rounds about town. More L'Amore should be contacted about the false advertising they are spreading.

This evening I am having dinner with my former boss. We do this every year and it is always good to see her.

Tomorrow evening we are going to see Joel in Death of a Salesman, but before that, we will stop by More L'Amour. Leslie - I hope you have a special Pierre Pierre for me! If not, I'll take Eleanor's.

Sunday evening we are going to see The Shins and be all Valentine-y as I will be in Connecticut for most of next week for work.

I want my avatar back - Luke's supposed to be looking into that, I think... Dave - remind him for me if he isn't reading the message boards, eh?

Tonight: I am ready now to again return to Burrito Loco after being thoroughly Mexican-ed out for a few weeks there. It was a scary time. Later - go watch some records being spinded.

Saturday: School work, showing up at the Craftfest as the doors open, then off for an evening of fine theater starring some dude I went to high school with. Anybody else interested should let us know. Then afterwards to my sister's place for a birthday party for my baby-daddy-in-law. Open invite, by the way.

Sunday: Installing storm doors attempt #2. More school work.

Ok...well, I didn't check in until too late. I see coral and deer143 voting for good ol' El B. Adam put in a vote for Maya, but I suppose I'll call him and tell him we're on to Maya for now. I need to try out this voting mechanism again so I'm not having to make these calls.

I would have voted for Maya if the polls were still open.  I'm cool with BL though.  It'll beat that time we went to Del Taco.  I'm celebrating my last day of working for Pyramid today.  I'll celebrate starting my new job on Monday.  For the rest of the weekend, I'll celebrate crafts and maybe some drywalling.  Next weekend, I'm planning to go see my boyfriend if he survives the death plague that he's currently suffering.

Just realized I said "on to Maya" but I meant, "going to El Burrito," not that anyone will be checking in now. Bye!
