Real Life: Memorial Stylee (May 22-25)

Three day weekend! Three day weekend! Whee!

I will spend tonight working--we have grammy-nominated kora player Mamadou Diabate here at  the Museum as part of the annual African Arts Festival in Forest Park. Free. 7 p.m. I assume most of y'all will be dinin' it, though--discuss where that will be in the ensuing posts.

Saturday: Joe-B-Que! Who wants to go with me, say, 2:30/3-ish? There's another, bird-related bbq in the evening, if I can stand it.

Sunday: African art projects and musicians at the Art Hut, 1-4. I hear there's softball somewhere while I'm working--have fun!

Monday: Ahem. Important people are celebrating birthdays, but have not yet decided how. Stay tuned. Oh, yeah--there's also some sort of less-important holiday going on.

Bug & I will not be joining in any Happy Life-ing tonight since we have to get up at an absurd hour tomorrow morning. Dawn o'clock? No, earlier. Pre-dawn? No, earlier. Last call? That's about right. No joke. Bedtime is scheduled for 9pm. Wish us luck.

The rest of the weekend will hopefully be spent with some stress-free travel and sunny days on the beach, sipping rum cocktails out of coconuts and frolicking in the ocean.

Have fun on the holiday weekend, y'all. Grill something for me.

Have a nice trip, yo. I demand souvenirs! Or at least a wacky postcard.

Today: Late afternoon trip to the Tower Grove Park fountain for Porkchop Jr.Jr. to show off his shark swim trunks. Anyone not working is welcome to join us.

Tonight: HL, perhaps with a smaller-than-usual crowd? I propose EBL, since I haven't been in weeks. Followed, of course, by Ted Drewes!

Saturday: Looks like maybe an Impromp-T-Q? Apparently there's this new website called "Facebook," that's like Geeklife, only people visit it regularly and plan stuff there.

Sunday: Maybe some ceremonial softball and more BBQin'.

Monday: Possibly somehow celebrating the birth of someone.

EBL sounds lovely.

As for the rest of the weekend, I'll be minding my b's and q's.

Tonight: Ping and I had another big client meeting this morning that involved lots of late night last minute perfecting-things, so we're probably going to crash tonight.

Saturday & Sunday: Not sure yet.

Monday: Family BBQ. Hoping it doesn't storm since the last three storms have given me some weird kind of "silent" migraine or something... a brain twister that makes me not myself (as anyone at the King & I last Friday can testify). Crazy, unsettling stuff. Hope I don't have to move to a climate where it never rains... ummmmm... wait a sec....

Happy weekends to everyone if we don't see you!

Awww man, I just realized that Robert Earl Keen is playing at Ribfest on Sunday (at 4:00).  I don't suppose anyone would be up for that, huh? He's really good, as far as Texas-style country and western music goes. Almost legendary, even.

Also, Brett Michaels is playing there tomorrow night, if anyone's looking to catch herpes.

I am very much looking forward to a week of nothing. Maybe, just maybe, I will get on a boat, just so I can shout out "Poseidon, look at me!"
