Real Life: September 19-21: I'm not really there edition

Hi, Y'all! I'm in KC for a conference, sorta shopping for performers for Museum programs. I've seen some awesome stuff, as well as a few things that may scar me for life (like the woman who played Gershwin's "Summertime" on violin whilst doing body contortions--the performance ended with a dramatic kung-fu demo. Gershwin would be proud.) (Be warned--I picked up her dvd to "share" with all of you.)

 Tonight, while you guys are enjoying dinner, I'll be seeing more music and the like, (i.e. enjoying free booze), hopefully followed by more showcases and perhaps finally escaping the convention center and getting out into KC--maybe someone good is playing, seeing as I'm missing the Detroit Cobras in St. Louis tomorrow night.

Saturday: more conference, and then not getting to see the Detroit Cobras in St. Louis. I may actually get to go to a Museum or two.

Sunday: Home! Is anyone doing anything fun Sunday night?

Arghhhhh....I be considering steering me ship afore Kansas City this eve. Avast, come morn, I be pillaging me way to Arthur Bryant's or Grinders and then off to collect the booty of KC record shops. On the morrow eve, I shall be back in St. Louis to rape a tune or two on the vinyl spinning devices at the local watering hole known as the Royale. Sunday, I shall join me mateys in a spirited round of music making.

nothin' but como for me as i begin a marathon weekend of catching myself up with reading law and conducting resaerch that i should have done over the last three weeks or so.

there are hot air balloons in forest park this weekend, which look like fun.  i've never gone, but i've always wanted to see that friday night illumination.  if anybody goes on friday night, hijack a balloon for me and float it on over to columbia.  then you can pick me up and we can make our way to kc and hook up with amanda.  then float back to the stl in style.  then repel into the detroit cobras show like how the ghostbusters did it in ghostbusters ii.  

otherwise, i'm staying in columbia.

When I was in New York a few weeks ago, there was some very weird pink ooze on the street that reminded me of Ghostbusters II. I didn't try singing to it, so I don't know if it was the same stuff at all.

Tonight, for dinner, I say we hit EBL. It's oh so very good and I'm too tired to think of anything more creative. And you love burritos, don't you?

EBL sounds good to me.  Ezz is in town for the weekend (he's not really there in Urbanna), and he seems pretty into burritos.  

As for the rest of the weekend, we have a family thing in the early evening tomorrow, but no other definite plans.
