I JUST BOUGHT A TICKET TO SEE SLEIGH BELLS AT THE FIREBIRD ON OCTOBER 28TH!!!1! Aaaannnyway, what are you all up to this weekend? I'm working late tonight--if any of you have any interest in hearing either a lecture on contemporary sculptors working in 2-D or a concert of Medieval period music, visit me tonight! After, I might be up for a drink, if any of you are around and about? Tomorrow: I am cleaning, reading my art history homework (heh. I have to visit the Museum three times this semester--does that mean I don't have to be here the rest of the semester?), and cooking some fancy cookery. Maybe stopping by a friend's b-day party? Maybe Kevin Seconds at FuBar? Sunday: Lazing about, and then GLASS TEETH 7" RELEASE PARTY AT LEMMON'S!...

So what are all of you doing while I am at the Illinois State Fair seeing Blondie and mud-bog racing and riding rides and eating fried things and judging livestock and seeing a Michael Jackson tribute and befriending carnies and visiting the a cow sculpture made from 500 punds of butter?...

Hello from St. Louis! Yes, we're still here, wearing out our welcome. There was all this talk about how Seattle has amazing Thai restaurants, and while they do seem to be in abundance, we have yet to find ones that match our St. Louis levels of enjoyment. On that front, Barbara is in desperate need of some Panang Curry, and is wishing, hoping, dreaming of going to the King & I tonight. At 7:30pm, I believe. Adam is wanting to visit Winslow's Home, but I think Barbara is not to be dissuaded. Perhaps tomorrow night? Or maybe even a Sunday brunch? (I hear they do that kind of thing well.) Other than that, I'm looking for some more hanging out, and quite possibly some more Ted Drewes. I've got to build up some extra calories to survive the difficult Seattle winter. Tomorrow I'm going to a baseball game, and Sunday I'm going to a baseball game, but those are both afternoon-ish games, so dinners, brunches, and other goings-on are hoped for around those 18 innings. What're you up to this weekend...

Hello from Seattle! We're still settling in, still hoping all our stuff arrives one day, and still figuring out how to get around this town, but tomorrow we will be figuring out how to get back to your crazy town. Barbara and I will be back in St. Louis tomorrow evening through next week, and I'm hoping we'll get some good hanging out, catching up, and having fun in between the bazillion wedding preparation errands we're running. Our flight gets in at 5pm, which, if all magically goes well will mean we're around for a 7:30-ish Happy Life, if others are up for that. I won't lie, I'm kind of dying for an El Burrito Loco or seven. Saturday we're attending a Barbara's-Cousin wedding, probably for most of the whole day. The rest of the week, Barbara will have to fill me in on. I don't know anything specific going on, but I'm hoping there's ample dinners, ballgames, batting cages, etc. How's St. Louis? What've you been up to, and what will you be up to this next week?...

Hi, y'all! It's the first weekend without some of our number, which is a bit lonely, but now is the time to seize the moment and forge bravely ahead--or, let's just hang out a bit, shall we? This morning, after a considerable fast, I had a cholesterol test at the Dr.'s. On the way into work after that, I had a delicious bacon cheeseburger. At 10:30 a.m. I am a grown up. Tonight, I am going to a demolition derby @ a county fair across the river! Crashing and crunching! Fried things! Those of you staying on the west side maybe should grab a bite to eat--where are you going to go? Tomorrow, I will run, prime and paint, clean, and other boring things. After all of that business, I am going to see the Rats and People Motion Picture Orchestra score "Haxan" at The Old Rock House! Very excited! You should go to that too! (Oh, yeah--Theodore is playing, too, and they're not half bad.) Sunday--cookery followed by watching something Horrible. Now you go:...

This is it guys. This is the last Goonies weekend. (I know we're not the Goonies, but you get the idea.) Tonight: EBL at 7pm. That is a baby friendly time at a baby friendly restaurant with DELICIOUS BURRITOS. They serve PITCHERS of MARGARITAS. Their GUACAMOLE is so freaking good. There is absolutely no excuse for you not to be there. So be there. Apparently Seattle is lacking in delicious Mexican food (maybe just compared to the more Southern reaches of the West coast?), so I want to get in as much deliciousness now as possible. Later tonight: Ted Drewes (S. Grand) followed by The Royale. YES. Saturday: Bug and I are packing up the remains of our worldly goods and moving out of the house. We're going to a hotel, in theory. If anyone is interested in stopping by the house in the morning to pick up a freezer full of Trader Joe's food, please let me know. Otherwise, it goes in the trash. Also, if you haven't heard the good news - we get to take Dublin with us to Seattle. We can't bring him...

I'm sitting on the floor right now, in a mostly empty house, watching the movers haul away the last of our stuff. It's a little sad, really. Hopefully I can get a nap in this afternoon, and then.... Tonight: Lemongrass for dinner, 7pm. Afterward to the Joel give away / going away shindig. Tomorrow: There's a BBQ in the afternoon, then maybe swing dancing at Casa Loma if anyone is up for it. Sunday: Family time. Hanging out with some cute babies. Also, if any of you have reliable, cat-loving friends or family, I have to give my kitty Dublin up for adoption. He's very sweet, very cuddly, and a good cat. Please let me know if anyone is interested in adopting the little fuzzball. How's your weekend looking? Do you want a cat with that?...

Hey, hey it's the weekend. Woo-hoo! This week has consisted of dragging 5 truckloads of odd stuff out of our house to be donated, painting the basement bathroom, putting our house on the market (omg, our house is on the market!), clearing every surface in the house so we can look all chic and minimalist in our house photos, arranging for all manner of wedding transportation, and checking in on tuxedo rentals. I can't suggest moving cross country, planning a wedding, and putting your house up for sale as a means of staying sane and stress free in you life, but as Tim Gunn would say, we just have to "make it work". So anyway, this weekend... Tonight: Dinner at Seki Sui at 8pm. There will be sushi. Then on to the Royale for my "Fade to Black" retirement DJ spin. I have nothing planned (see above description of week), but I think it will be lots of fun anyway. Come out and have a drink and dance, won't you? Saturday: House stuff, wedding stuff, going to my cousin's bachelorette party in the...

We have Monday off at my office, so we get an extra long weekend to celebrate with all of you. Let's start it up! Tonight: Dinner at La Tropicana at 7pm. It hasn't worked the last couple of times we've tried, but Bug insists that tonight it will. It is a perfect night for patio weather. They have delicious food. It is near the Royale and/or our house if we want to continue hanging out post-dinner. Saturday: Bug picks up his tuxedo! Let's hope it fits, and he looks all fancy. Then we're off to BBQ and watch some fireworks. Sunday: ...I don't know. Is anything going on for the 4th? Should we plan something? Who wants to have us over for more BBQ? Monday: Maybe even more BBQ? Then trying on my wedding dress for alterations. Then maybe some more BBQ? What are you doing this weekend? Please say it involves hanging out with us!...

You're on your own this weekend. I've got family in from out of town (including my adorable baby niece) for my cousin's wedding. It is all wedding, all family, all the time. Tonight: Baby meet & greet for the family to meet the little behbeh from California. I've already met her, but she was only 4 days old then and now she's 7 months and crawling, so it's kind of like she's a whole new person. Tomorrow: visiting my wedding dress for the first time since ordering it many months ago to make sure it's not all messed up. I don't know what I'll do if it is all messed up. Cry, maybe? Find a new dress? Dunno. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. After visiting my dress, I'll head out to Eureka to see my cousin's bride's dress in action. Then, it's cocktails and maybe a dip in the Holiday Inn pool. Sunday: wedding brunch, then even more family time. So what are you up to this weekend?...

A belated rad pop out day to Mr. Porkchop Jr. Jr.! He's so grown up! In honor of the little man's birthday... Tonight: Kid-friendly dinner? Shall we try the patio at La Tropicana since we didn't make it there last time? Say, 7pm? Us non-preggers folks can have margaritas. The kiddo can eat delicious beans. Chips and guacamole for everyone! Who's with me? Tomorrow: Errands, house stuff, then maybe a Dad's Day dinner with my Dad. After that? Drinks, anyone? Sunday: Packing, then jet-setting off for more exciting work travel. Anybody wanna cat-sit my cats? What are you up to this weekend?...

It's another wedding weekender for me. Really, I'm sure you'll be bored of it soon, but it's the PRIME OBJECTIVE around these parts. Have you ever heard of the tradition of giving a prize to the first person to send in their RSVP? I had not until last night. As I'll be mailing out invites sooner than later, what sort of prize is appropriate to award the first RSVP-er? Any hints would be appreciated. Tonight: Family wedding shower. Presents! Saturday: A cousin's bachelorette brunch and mani/pedi fun. I'm not sticking with the bride-to-be for the rest of the day because I have approximately 9000 things to do around the house. But Saturday night... what's going on Saturday night? Saturday night: Dancing at Casa Loma Ballroom! Jump, jive and swing with MISS JUBILEE & THE HUMDINGERS with another band to be announced. Doors open 7:30pm. Complimentary swing dance lesson 8-8:30pm. Dancing until midnight. Adm. $10 per person. Sunday: More wedding goodness. Maybe even more presents! How about...

Summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime... Bug and I grilled out in the backyard last night and drank chilled white wine and it was kind of the most pleasant thing ever. We stopped at the grocery that's on our way home and picked up the evening's veggies and felt very European about the whole thing. Why am I boring you with this? Because it's summer, people. It's finally, beautifully, gloriously HERE and you do not even know how happy I am about that. Also, I am going to bore you for one more minute... I finished addressing my wedding invitations. I know, I'm sure you are just as excited as I am. Now, you all just have to agree not to move in the next couple of weeks before I get them sent out. Anyway, this is a very wedding-y weekend for me once again. The plans are... Tonight: Dinner, I think. I'm actually not sure yet. I'll get back to you on this one. Yes, dinner. I'm thinking I need to stay in the neighborhood tonight, so what about La Tropicana at 7:00pm? We can probably even sit...

Hiya folks! Look outside! It's sunny and it's warm. Perfect weather to kick off the start of summer. I know I need an extra day to my weekend, how about you? Tonight: I don't know if she's getting out of work in time, but it was just DeManda's birthday. Unless I'm mistaken, she really likes Olympia, so maybe we should think about heading there for dinner around 7:30pm. There's even a patio! Let's plan on that unless Miss DeManda wants to go somewhere else . Birthday girl gets to choose! [Edit:] DeManda can't go to Olympia tonight, so let's tentatively schedule that for next weekend. Any dinner suggestions? Bar Italia, anyone? I'm feeling like a patio. Later tonight: Mark Early plays records at The Royale, which sounds like a fine place place to be on a warm summer's night. Saturday: I'm addressing wedding invitations all day. Maybe taking some time off to tackle a tree sized weed that has appeared in the backyard seemingly overnight. Sunday: You're all invited to our place for Wine, Cheese...

Hey all, it's like really supposed to be nice and warm and sunny this weekend, with a side of Ima Pepper's birthday! Rad pop out day to you, Pepper! I'm all wedding all the time this weekend, and everyone in my family is getting married in the next couple of months. You have no idea how many times I've forgotten to bring a 20% coupon to Bed Bath & Beyond in the past few weeks. It's stupid, honestly. There's a bread machine in my trunk RIGHT NOW. I'm not playin'. Tonight: It's Pepper's birthday, so she gets to pick a spot for dinner (that's assuming she even wants to eat dinner with the likes of the Happy Lifers). I'm engaged for the early evening, but Bug will probably be out and about. I'd like to meet up with you all for drinks after dinner, if such a thing is afoot. Tomorrow: I have a cousin's wedding to go to. Sunday: Wedding shower for another cousin. See, I was not making this up about the weddings. So what about you? Tell me what you're all about....

Oh hello Spring. Oh hai. Thanks for all the rain. I planted a ton of herbs and some flowers last weekend, and Spring has been pretty accommodating with the watering so far. I do think they could use some sun as well, so if you're up for that, Spring, a little sunshine at some point in the weekend would be much appreciated. Anyhoodle, the weekend, let's get into it, shall we? Tonight: There's some art outside the Onion Hut, starting around 7pm. I do not know if there's plans for the rain or if you're just going to get wet. Maybe bring an umbrella just in case? I don't know the fate of dinner plans, if many of you are planning to attend the art stuff. I guess let me know, as I have to pick out records for this evening and so may be limited in my evening's adventures. Later tonight: Whether you weather the weather and check out the art or go to dinner or just sit at home in the early evening, I will be spinning records at The Royale starting at 10pm tonight. You should totally be there and...

Hooray! It's another weekend. Full of fun and excitement and naps. What are you doing this weekend? Tonight: Yay! Panag Curry Tofu! Dumplings! Crazy drinks in tiki glasses! Let's go to King & I tonight for dinner. 7:30pm sound good to you? Tomorrow: Hopefully gardening, then maybe heading to the Soulard School Soiree? Sunday: Say hello to your mother for me....

I'm not feeling so great today, so it's quite possible I'll not be up for much this evening. There are many good things afoot this weekend, however, and I'm going to try, try, try to get out there and enjoy them. I have a lot of family stuff going on this weekend, so if you don't end up seeing me at all, that's where I'll be. Tonight: Maybe King & I for dinner? I do love me some panang curry tofu. 7:30pm? Anybody interested? [edit by Dave] We're going to do El Burrito Loco tonight at 7pm. King & I now tentatively scheduled for next Friday. Tomorrow: Kentucky Derby Day at the Royale! Party starts at 2pm, ponies run at 5pm. 5:04pm, if you're technical. There's also a baby birthday shindig for a baby birthday boy that I'd like to swing by if possible. Sunday: I have a baseball game I'm hoping to attend. How about you? How about your weekend, huh?...

Only a moment to spare, but here's my thoughts on the happenings of the weekend.... Tonight: Veggie Taco Casserole & sides over at the Sunshine House. 7:30pm, all are welcome. Come hang out and help out with last minute Deer/Redbird/Chic/Raygun garage sale prep. You probably don't even have to help out. I'm sure you can just come over and eat food. Tomorrow: Big Sunshine House garage sale in the AM. I think it goes from 8 till noon. Buy some stuff! Tomorrow night: I have a birthday thing for a birthday person. Sunday: I think there are some crafts afoot. We'll see if I can make it out of house before noon two weekend days in a row. Geez, haven't any of you heard of taking it easy on weekends? I need some later-rising friends so I can go to "brunch" at 1pm. F'real. So what are your plans, folks?...

HOW ARE YOU ALL DOING TODAY? I HAVE HAD WAY TOO MUCH CAFFEINE, EVERYONE! MY EYES ARE VIBRATING! Anywhoo, how's this Friday finding you? What are you going to do with your weekend? Here are my plans (after I come down a bit): Tonight: Work late, go to gym, clean up, and then find friends who are doing things if they are doing things and do those thing with them. May I crash one of your fun times later tonight? Tomorrow: Helping a Deer friend move some things, move some of my own things, feed some animals, and maybe a bad movie night at a friend's house. I hear Supergirl is involved. Sunday: Running, reading, rendering, resting....

Sorry, Geeklife. I've been super busy today, and have completely neglected you. Tonight: MUSTACHE BASCHE at the Royale. Mark Early and I will be spinning records starting at 10pm. Party and general awesomeness starts around 9pm. Would anyone be interested in eating a little King & I before the party? I can make reservations for 7:30pm, and we could go straight to the Royale after dinner. I'll have my spirit gum in the car for the folically-challenged who have to rely on external mustaches for the party. If everyone's too busy getting ready, we can skip dinner. Just let me know. Tomorrow: Picnic! Sunday: Rest!...

Hi, Everybody (in my best Dr. Nick voice)! Whatcha doin' this weekend? Here are some things you might be (and I for sure am) up to... Tonight: There's an opening at Boots, but I don't know much about it, so I'm undecided. Next: Fooding for friendship! Where might we want to chow down, hmm? What about after that? I had some fun at the Silver Ballroom last weekend--wanna try that again? Saturday: Running! Homework! Finally drawing that thing for Coral what I've been promising! Maybe seeing a movie about Nazis climbing an Alp. Anything else to do? Sunday: Easter! A pretty secular one for a lot of us, I'd bet. Eggs, choklit, family, brunch, etc. I aim to brunch with some friends you might know (unless I get roped into a family thing--still working on that). Taking it easy for the rest of the day. What am I missing?...

Drat. Cold again. Lousy Smarch weather. Tonight, I will work late, sit on some cats, and then, perhaps, attend a frigid BBQ at a friend's house. This means no dining out for me, but the rest of you should find a foodery at which you can congregate. Tomorrow will see me through lots of boring errands and homework, and then I have symphony tickets! Shostakovich! Maybe we can meet up for drinks after? Is there a potluck this week? Only time (and a post from Porkchop or Coral) will tell. Sunday? No idea. Too far in the future. You?...

It's shaping up to be a weekend, that's for sure. I hear some of you will be watching hours of basketball and fretting over your brackets (Porkchop), others will be playing records (me), playing live music (Mark), or planning a potluck (Coral). What's your weekend looking like? Tonight: there's dinner for the folks that want it. I think it's time for DeManda to have a shot at her dearly beloved Olympia. Puff pastry! Meat on a stick! Flaming cheese! Sadly, I'm not sure I'll be able to make it, because I'm DJing tonight and have not had time to get my records together. But thems that want Greek food should eat some dinner at 7:30pm and have some spinach and feta for me. Later tonight: you could go see Mark's rock show at Lemmon's, or you could listen to me spin records at The Royale. It's your choice! How's that for democracy? (Psst, mine's free!) Tomorrow: I got wedding stuff to get done, then who knows!? Probably more wedding stuff! There's a potluck at the Onion for those eaters among...

More March. And since half the time I'm reporting the weather here anyway, it's a rainy March out there. What are you thinking about this weekend? Any plans? Any cool stuff going on? Tonight: Dinner at Boogaloo, let's say 8pm. Crispy plantains! Ginger mojitos! Let me know if you want in on dinner, because I'll try to call and reserve a table around 4 this afternoon. Saturday: I'm going to an open house wedding thing in the afternoon, then on to a potluck at Chez Onion, then on to some festivities at the Royale. Sunday: I don't know what's going on. Anybody interested in any of the following? Alice in Wonderland in 3D in IMAX? Tea at the London Tea Room? Late brunch at Rooster? I don't think I could do all three, but I'd be up for whatever has the most interest. You tell me, friends. What are we doing on Sunday? What are you doing the rest of the weekend?...
